New advice to help active Victorian women

Victorian women of all ages now have access to the latest exercise, health and nutrition research and advice thanks to a series of fact sheets designed to give women the right information to make the right choices at different stages of their lives. The Active Women in Sport fact sheet series, developed by Sports Medicine Australia – Victoria provide advice on topics ranging from nutrition and bone health for active women, to exercise during pregnancy to exercising at a young and older age.

Exercise for Women over 50

Victorian women over 50 now have access to the latest exercise, health and nutrition research and advice thanks to a new fact sheet titled ‘Exercise for women over 50’. Developed by Sports Medicine Australia – Victoria the resource provides advice on topics ranging from bone health, menopause and weight bearing and resistance exercise, all while providing practical exercise tips and activity guidelines.

Pregnancy and exercise

Victorian women who are pregnant now have access to the latest exercise and health research thanks to a new fact sheet titled ‘Pregnancy and Exercise’. Developed by Sports Medicine Australia – Victoria the resource provides advice on the risks and benefits, frequency, intensity, time, type and the all-important guidelines on when to cease exercise while pregnant.

Bone health for active women

Victorian women now have access to the latest research and advice on how to achieve healthy bones thanks to a new fact sheet titled ‘Bone Health for Active Women’. Developed by Sports Medicine Australia – Victoria the resource provides information on the risks of poor bone health, optimising bone health, exercise to promote healthy bones throughout all life stages and ways in which bone health can be maximised.
