The 2018 coaching panels for the 19/U and 17/U Victorian teams have been announced ahead of the first round of trials this Sunday.
2017 19/U Head Coach, Kaylea McQuade, returns for 2018, and her team will be looking to defend their 2017 Championship victory.
Joining McQuade in the 19/U Coaching panel is Melanie Savage (Assistant Coach) and Tegan Hopkins (Apprentice Coach).
Savage comes off a successful 2017, seeing the Geelong Cougars 19/U Victorian Netball League team to a premiership. She was also 2017 Assistant Coach for the 17/U team at the National Championships, who lost narrowly to South Australia in the Grand Final, 26-25.
Jacinta Todd returns as Head Coach of the 17/U team, looking to improve on the narrow Grand Final loss.
Todd heads a new-look 17/U Coaching panel, with Sarah Hogan (Assistant Coach) and Belinda Lees (Apprentice Coach) joining for 2018.
In 2018, the Talent Squad Tier 2 program will run alongside the state team, giving more athletes the chance to receive specialist training, experience a high-performance environment. This will also provide more opportunities to players and coaches.
The coaches for the Tier 2 programs are Adam Sloan (19/U) and Guy Keane (17/U).
Selections for the teams will begin this Sunday, with the National Championships to be held in Adelaide in April 2018.
