Netball Victoria (NV), established in 1934, is the peak sporting body for netball in Victoria and is responsible for the management and development of the sport across the state. Netball Victoria also proudly manages the Melbourne Vixens; a high profile and successful international level netball team in the Trans-Tasman Netball League’s ANZ Championships.
Netball Victoria is also responsible for the management and development of 224 Netball Associations and over 111,000 paid members across the state. The organisation is supported by 57 employees comprising of full-time and part time employees.
This position plays a pivotal role in leading and developing the sport of netball in Victoria. The Chief Executive Officer, while driving the strategic outcomes of the business, will also be responsible for the day-to-day operational aspects of the business – managing staff, dealing with a range of stakeholders, innovative sport development, oversight of all financial matters, and delivery of commercial outcomes.
The Chief Executive Officer reports to the President of Netball Victoria, through the NV Board. The appointed candidate will have a sound working knowledge of governance and financial management. As Netball Victoria is a member-based organisation, there will be clear expectations around managing this diverse stakeholder group.
The Chief Executive Officer of Netball Victoria needs to clearly demonstrate both the personal and commercial capabilities and attributes required of the role. In order to continue to grow netball in Victoria (via traditional and non-traditional versions of the game/products), the candidate will need to clearly articulate experience in developing and implementing financially viable commercial opportunities.
