Netball Victoria is pleased to announce a partnership with the Victorian Regional Academy of Sport (VRAS) that has seven regions throughout Victoria take part in a program that provides development for potential Zone Academy athletes transitioning into the 15/U age group.

The aim of this agreement is to both assist Netball Victoria to reach and service regional areas and to support aspiring Netball athletes in the regional centres of Victoria.

The program links Netball Victoria’s High Performance Pathway Programs, in particular the Zone Academy Program with the Regional Academies of sport on a larger scale.

Barwon Sports Academy (Geelong), West Vic Academy of Sport (Ballarat), Gippsland Sports Academy (Newborough), Bendigo Academy of Sport (Bendigo), North East Academy (Shepparton), the South West Academy of Sport (Warrnambool) and Sunraysia Academy of Sport (Sunraysia) are the seven regional academies that participate in the program.

The program provides development for potential Zone Academy athletes transitioning into the 15U age group. The program delivers components from the two Netball Australia Dare to Develop a Diamond Programs:

  1. Dare to Develop a Diamond 11-13yr olds
  2. Dare to Develop Diamond Academy Program

FedUni WestVic Academy of Sport

Overview & Objectives

Netball Victoria has recently partnered up to deliver a WestVic Sovereigns Netball Academy program which provides development for potential Zone Academy athletes transitioning into the 15U age group. The program will deliver components from the two Netball Australia Dare to Develop a Diamond Programs:

  1. Dare to Develop a Diamond 11-13yr olds
  2. Dare to Develop Diamond Academy Program

The aim of this agreement is to both assist Netball Victoria to reach and service regional areas and to support aspiring Netball athletes in the Western Victoria region.

West Vic Academy of Sport

 

South WestVic Academy of Sport

Overview & Objectives

The aim of the program is to both assist Netball Victoria to reach and service regional areas and to support aspiring Netball athletes within the South West region. The objective of the Service Delivery Program is to offer the athletes with sports science components and personal development at a local level.

Sunraysia Academy of Sport

Overview & Objectives

Sunraysia Academy of Sport in partnership Netball Victoria has introduced a Service Delivery Program model to the region.  The new program offers the athletes with sports science components and personal development at a local level.  The 2017 Netball Program will provide off-court programs and sessions to complement any on-court training that each athlete is already undergoing with their own coach. Netball Victoria will provide a local coaching clinic and a Coach in Field Session. A new initiative to compliment the Strength & Conditioning component is a partnership with Mildura Dance International coach, the Netball athletes will complete a six-week program focusing on agility, pivot & flexibility. The Target Group is aged 12 years by 1 January 2017 and 15 years or under as of 31 December 2017 are selected by a Selection Criteria process.

Barwon Academy of Sport

Overview & Objectives

Netball Victoria in partnership with the Barwon Sports Academy deliver a netball program which provides development for potential Zone Academy athletes transitioning into the 15U age group. The BSA utilise Netball Victoria’s talent identification process to select the girls whom are identified as potential Zone Academy athletes in 2019. There is a cohort of 13 and 14-year-old girls who will also be invited to the BSA program for 2018. The aim of this partnership is to assist Netball Victoria to reach and service regional areas and to support aspiring Netball athletes in the Barwon Region.

Bendigo Academy of Sport

Overview & Objectives

The Bendigo Academy of Sport is proudly supported by Netball Victoria and all relevant Association and Leagues within our Victorian Regional Academies of Sport boundaries – Macedon Ranges, Mt Alexander Shire, City of Greater Bendigo, Loddon Shire and the Campaspe Shire.

Gippsland Sports Academy

Overview & Objectives

The Gippsland Sports Academy program will provide development for potential Zone Academy athletes transitioning into the 15/U age group. The focus will be on developing the athlete’s potential for selection into the next level of pathway development, Eastern Zone Academy program, which feeds into the state team. The program will deliver components from the two Netball Australia Dare to Develop a Diamond Programs:
