Catani Netball Club recently cleaned their courts with support from the WorkSafe Club Safety Fund after construction to upgrade the local sporting facility imposed an occupational health and safety hazard.
Following the $266,000 construction of the new netball pavilion, Catani Netball Club representatives and the Recreation Reserve Committee were disappointed to realise the toll on the court.
Catani Netball Club president Angela Banbury said the decision to submit an application for the WorkSafe Club Safety Fund was the right decision to make.
“With the construction of our new pavilion during our entire home and away season, it wasn’t ideal for the courts and we did have some moments during games that weren’t great when it rained. The decision to apply for the grant once our rooms were finished was an easy one,” said Banbury.
The club invested $1250, which WorkSafe Victoria matched to get three netball courts cleaned.
