Elmer Netball Region has received a boost this week with the announcement that Parkville Netball Competitions players* are now eligible to represent their region at the 2014 V/Line State Titles.
Endorsed by Netball Victoria, this will allow athletes participating at Parkville in club based teams to move into the Netball Victoria Player Pathway, with Elmer competing in the 15/Under and 17/Under divisions.
Elmer’s Regional Liaison Officer, Jessica Harrington said, ‘this change in the application process is a huge positive for the Elmer Netball Region.”
“It means that a larger number of netballers are now eligible to represent the region at the V/Line State Titles which in the past has been difficult,” Ms Harrington said.
“As a region we are excited about this development and look forward to the year ahead.”
Parkville Netball Competitions Coordinator Sue Flynn said, “it is a great opportunity for Parkville players, coaches and umpires to be recognised in another stage of the Netball Victoria pathway. We are hopeful this will now allow Elmer to have enough players trialing to enter an Open team for 2014.”
The 2014 V/Line State Titles will be held on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 October 2014 with the weekend competition not only bringing quality players, coaches and umpires from all areas across the state, but is also recognised as an invaluable development tool and promotes a structured pathway for those participating in netball in Victoria.
Trials are scheduled for 9 and 23 May 2014 at Whitten Oval Community Sports Hall, Barkly Street, Footscray. Please contact your local association for a registration form.

* Players participating at PNC as part of a representative squad are not eligible for Elmer, unless their association falls within Elmer already, for example Altona Netball Association.
