Netball Victoria is pleased to announce the appointment of former Victorian Flames coach Cathy Fellows as the inaugural Head Coach of the 2015 Netball Victoria Talent Squad.
The Talent Squad program is closely linked with the Victorian Institute of Sport and aims to enable identified athletes to reach their full potential through the provision of innovative and progressive development opportunities.
Netball Victoria High Performance Manager Rebekah Webster noted the skills Fellow’s possessed as a coach with development athletes.
“Cathy has an incredible ability to get the best out of her players regardless of where they are in their development stage as an athlete,” Ms Webster said.
“Having seen what she was able to achieve with development athletes in the Victorian Flames team over the past two years, we are extremely confident that we will be producing further world-class Victorian athletes through this Talent Program that will continue on with state and national netball programs.
The Talent Squad program will run from July through to October and enables identified athletes to reach their full potential through the provision of innovative and progressive development opportunities.
Assistant coaches for the squad are currently going through appointment processes.
Furthermore, Nicole Keegan and Kate Upon have been named as Assistant Coaches for the Victorian Fury’s 2015 Australian Netball League campaign.
Supporting Head Coach Kristy Keppich-Birrell, both Keegan and Upton will provide important insights and assist to the Victorian side targeting their third straight premiership.
