High performance umpires rewarded

Umpires

Netball Victoria is thrilled to a announce that umpires Ashlea Anderson and Andrea Booth have been selected in Netball Australia’s Emerging Talent Umpire Program.

Both umpires have attained their A Badges and officiate in the Devine Victorian Netball League, as well as both having participated in Underage National Championships and the Australian Netball League.

Netball Victoria Umpire Development Coordinator Ann Castles said it was a fantastic achievement for both girls.

“Ashlea and Andrea have both worked extremely hard with their umpiring and this is a great opportunity to continue developing and pushing towards the elite spectrum of the scale,” Ms Castles said.

“Netball Victoria wishes them a successful year ahead with their umpiring commitments and we will continue to support their progress within our own competitions.”

Further adding to Victoria’s umpiring programs, Raechel Richards has been nationally appointed by Netball Australia as an umpire coach for the Underage National Championships next year in April.

Netball Australia has also announced the appointment of four Victorians in the High Performance Program including Marc Henning, Kate Wright, Qalo Sukabula and Diana Kennedy.

The program aims to provide umpires with the necessary training at the elite level to umpire in the ANZ Championship and International test matches.
