Netball Victoria High Performance Coaching Positions NOW OPEN

_MCA4442LiNetball Victoria is now accepting applications for each of the High Performance programs for 2016.

Please note: Netball Victoria Talent Squad positions will be opened at a later date.

Netball Victoria will be appointing Head Coach Positions first before progressing through to Assistant and Apprentice roles. Coaches may apply for more than one position and must include this in a covering letter to accompany their application form.

All Applications must be accompanied by a covering letter detailing relevant coaching experience and suitability for the role(s). Applications close at 12pm Monday 24 August, 2015.


Victorian Fury

The Victorian Fury compete in the Australian Netball League (ANL) which is the underpinning competition to the ANZ Championship. In 2016 the ANL competition will integrate with the ANZ competition and will run for approximately 10 weeks from late April to the end of June (ANZ Championship runs from April to July). For the first time, teams will play all other states and territories twice in the preliminary rounds. The Fury team will underpin the Melbourne Vixens Program and coaching staff will be required to work closely with, and take direction from, the Melbourne Vixens coaching staff. The Apprentice coach Role may not include travel or limited travel for the 2016 season.

State Team Program

The Netball Victoria State Team program runs over three age groups 17/U, 19/U and 21/U and provides an opportunity for the state’s best athletes to progress through Netball Victoria Pathways. The program runs from late October culminating in the National Netball Championships.

17/U & 19/U National Championships:  Western Australia Monday 11 April – Monday 18 April 2016

21/U National Championships:  Tasmania Monday 7 March – Sunday 13 March 2016

Zone Academy Program 

The Netball Victoria Zone Academy program aims to provide a concurrent development opportunity for talented players, coaches, umpires and team managers, which will assist them to reach their potential.

The program is based on the Netball Australia’s Dare to Develop a Diamond Academy and has three core components required for completion. These components are:

  • Technical and tactical
  • Athlete wellbeing
  • Physical preparation

Squads consist of 25 -30 athletes and operate across the six zones between February and October in the lead up to the Intra-Academy weekend and State 17/U Screening Day.
