Netball Victoria is delighted to announce that the 2015 Netball Victoria State Titles will take place in Bendigo to mark 30 years of competition history.

In partnership with the City of Greater Bendigo, representative teams will travel across Victoria to meet for the tournament held on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October 2015 at the Golden City Netball Association.

Netball Victoria CEO Michelle Plane said it was an exciting prospect to hold the tournament in one of our strongest regional centres.

“The Netball Victoria State Titles provide a fantastic opportunity for all 19 regions in Victoria to come together and compete against the best netballers in the state,” Ms Plane said.

“The City of Greater Bendigo is a great supporter of netball and has been extremely proactive in bringing this event to the City. We look forward to continuing to build on our relationship and continue to grow the sport of netball in our regional communities.”

With 52 teams across 16 regions participating in the 2014 netball Victoria State Titles, the weekend tournament brings quality players, coaches and umpires from all areas across the state.

City of Greater Bendigo Mayor Cr Barry Lyons said Netball is a very popular sport in the region and he was thrilled to welcome the 2015 Netball Victoria State Titles to Bendigo.

“This is an outstanding event to win and it speaks volumes about Bendigo’s growing reputation, ability and capacity to host important netball events.”

“We have great facilities and infrastructure and our central location makes Bendigo a very accessible event destination.”

“Bendigo recently hosted a sell out International Test Match between Australia and England and prior to that a pre-season match between the Vixens and the Thunderbirds in 2012.  We are looking forward to hosting the Netball Victoria State Titles in 2015 which I know will be another stand out event,” said Cr Lyons.

Local Bendigo netballer and new recruit for the Melbourne Vixens Chloe Watson joined the Mayor at Golden City Netball Association for the announcement.
