The upcoming Netball Victoria and Smashgear End of Season Camp is an event not to be missed. The camp will be held at the Summit in Trafalgar East on the first weekend of December and will be the last event for the 2014 Netball Victoria Clinics and Camps calendar.
Located 90 minutes from Melbourne, the Summit is an outdoor adventure park with over 100 incredible activities on offer. The activities are high energy but can be adapted to be as challenging as required. So, it doesn’t matter whether you’re young or old – everybody is welcome!
Participants will compete in a number of challenges, including a 5km long obstacle course deemed the biggest of its kind in Australia. Participants are welcome to spend the free time afterwards cooling off on the waterslides, playing water sports and canoeing.
An afternoon clinic will be held at Warragul netball courts with Melbourne Vixens Jo Weston, Liz Watson and former Melbourne Vixen Joh Curran. Australian Diamonds and Melbourne Phoenix Captain Eloise Southby and Victorian State Coach Kate Upton will also attend the clinic, making it a great opportunity to meet some of the state’s biggest names in netball.
On the final day of camp, a round robin netball tournament will be held with Melbourne Vixens wing defence Kate Moloney. This will be a great opportunity for participants to practice what they’ve learnt at camp, working as a team to play the best game possible.
Netball Victoria Programs Development Manager Stacey O’Neill said the clinic provides junior athletes with the opportunity to further progress their netball skills in a fun and enjoyable environment.
“We are really looking forward to hosting the Summit Camp to finish off the Netball Victoria Clinics and Camps calendar for this year. Our programs have proved extremely successful and we are excited to work with the community in the East.”
“The Summit Camp is a rewarding way for young athletes to celebrate the end of school and beginning of summer. We’ve had a lot of positive feedback this year and hope to deliver another year of engaging clinics and camps in 2015.”
The Netball Victoria End of Season Camp will go from Friday 5 – Sunday 7 December. Be sure to book quickly as there’s only a number of places remaining. Click here to book today.
