Frequently Asked Questions

What ages do clinics cater for?

Netball Victoria clinics and camps will have the age specified on the clinic page. Please be advised that the minimum age applies to the age the participant is turning in that year. For example, a child turning 11 in September, is eligible to attend a clinic in April if that is the minimum age group.

How do I know if I have successfully registered for a clinic?

Once you have registered through the website and payment has been successful, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive an email, please contact 

How are the groups allocated?

Netball Victoria allocates that groups based on age. Information will be collected at some clinics based on how many years and what level participants currently play.

Will my child be with their friends?

Netball Victoria will endeavour to allocate participants who request to be with their friends. In the case that age groups vary more than two years, we usually don’t accommodate this request. Please ensure you have stated the friends first and last name. If you wish to be with team mates, please ensure you use the same reference ‘Rockets’. While we will do our best to accommodate all preferences, to get a balance in group numbers this may not always be possible.

How many Children are in each group?

The maximum group number is 16 participants per group. Younger groups are often smaller to ensure coaches can provide more specific feedback.

What should I wear?

Participants should wear comfortable training gear suitable for exercise eg. t-shirt, shorts/leggings, supportive runners (not converse etc). If you wear ankle braces to play in, please ensure you wear them for the clinic. You will be advised if the clinic is outdoor. Please ensure you wear appropriate clothing in case of rain and or sun exposure. For outdoor clinics please bring a hat and sunscreen.

What should I bring?

Participants will be required to bring a drink bottle and morning tea/lunch/snacks unless otherwise advised. Participants must also bring their own asthma puffer (if required). Additional socks may also be required for full day clinics.

Is First Aid available?

First Aid is provided at every clinic by trained staff. It is important though that you advise us of any illness, injury or condition that may affect your participation so that we are prepared and can alert coaches to modify your involvement appropriately.

What food should I bring?

You should bring healthy, energy-rich snacks suitable for morning tea and lunch. We do not provide food for participants (unless stated), and a canteen/café is not available at all venues. If a canteen/café is available, you will be advised on your reminder email sent a week out from the clinic.

What if I don't know anyone else going?

Participants will be grouped with people in the similar age, so there’s plenty of opportunity to make new friends. Your coach will ensure that everyone in your group interacts and is involved in the activities.

What time should I get there?

A reminder email will be sent out the week before the clinic advising the time registrations are open. The time will range between 20 mins and an hour before the clinic depending on the number of participants attending.

Can I stay and watch my child?

Parents are very welcome to stay and watch. You are welcome to observe and take notes, many of parents coach their local teams and get great ideas.
