2020 Association Championships venues announced

Seven locations across Victoria have been selected to host Netball Victoria’s 2020 Association Championships Zone qualifying stages, across four dates in May and June next year.

This year once again sees an extension of the popular annual competition, with the Central East Zone qualifying split across two locations. This approach continues to provide more associations with the opportunity to host the tournament and has been welcomed by the Victorian netball community.

Netball Victoria’s General Manager Netball Development, Angela Banbury, said it is exciting to see new locations and venues with upgraded facilities hosting the qualifying tournaments.

“It will be fantastic to see the Parkville Netball’s new Riverside venue in action, hosting a tournament of this nature for the first time.

“Once again in 2020 we’re expecting about 350 teams from across the state to take part in the qualifying stages of next year’s Association Championships, making it the largest and most accessible event for netballers from all across Victoria.”

Netball Victoria’s Association Championships are a major component of the Netball Victoria Talent Pathway, where upcoming netballers are recognised for the skills and potential. Talent Scouts attend each tournament date, inviting selected players to attend Zone Academy screening days.

The Association Championships sees association and league representative teams from across the state compete at their zone’s host venue. The various zone tournaments culminate in an Association Championships finals event on Sunday 21 June, at a venue which will be confirmed in early 2020.

Registrations for the 2020 Association Championships open in February next year.  For more details visit netballvic.com.au, or follow Netball Victoria on social media.
