15/U Regional State League

Netball Victoria are working with local associations to establish a 15/U Regional State League competition in the region. The 15/U competition will provide a pathway opportunity for younger athletes across the region and will feed into the existing RSL structure to further enhance and grow the competition.

RSL provides local umpires with a pathway opportunity for any C & B badged umpires to continue their development and gain selection in camps or squads. All umpires are given coaching and mentoring each week by Netball Victoria appointed staff, with umpires having the opportunity to be selected to officiate at Hisense Arena for the Premiers Challenge.

Coach Mentor Program

Clubs are able to nominate one of their coaches for this free program. Netball Victoria select a coach mentor for the identified coaches who will provide guidance and mentoring during the RSL season.

Betty McCoomb is now the 15/U regional coach for North Central and was mentored by Netball Australian Head of High Performance Carol Byers in a previous season.

Talent Identification [TID]

Selectors will be attending the RSL comp looking to identify athletes to be involved in other pathway programs such as Victorian State teams, the Devine Victorian Netball League and the Australian Netball League

North Central was the first region to have the RSL structure back in 2007 where it was highly regarded for attracting the best players from the region.

The RSL concept recognises the changing demands on our players, coaches, officials and administrators – school, university, work and other netball commitments – and balances this with our responsibility to develop pathways for netball participants across Victoria regardless of where they live.

Players are provided with an opportunity to play with and against the best talent from their region without the barriers of traveling to Melbourne.

Coaches are offered the opportunity to be mentored by high performance coaches throughout the season providing invaluable advice and support, whilst C Badged umpires are provided with essential mentoring and coaching throughout the season to work toward achieving a B Badge accreditation.
