Brimbank City Council’s Chair of Administrators John Watson and Minister for Sport, the Hon. John Eren MP officially opened the $6.5million three court extension of the Keilor Basketball and Netball Stadium in Keilor Park on Monday 7 December.
The new stadium provides community members with access to three brand-new [multi-lined] netball courts at the Keilor Basketball and Netball Stadium.
The venue becomes a new home for the St Albans Caroline Springs Netball Association and President, Jan Schulz said ‘she is excited that the stadium provides three state of the art courts which will allow them to grow their junior competition and provide quality facilities for the local community. This now allows the association’s representative sides to train together for the first time.’
A junior competition will start on a Saturday morning in February 2016. Interested teams and players should contact Jan Schulz on 0409 259 402.
The Keilor Park Netball Association (KPNA) will work closely with SACSNA and continue to provide junior programs and competitions on a Wednesday and Thursday afternoon and ladies competitions on a Tuesday morning as well as Thursday mornings and evenings.
The compliant courts provide the competition with a fresh start and council is looking forward to building the competition for local residents.
Anyone interested in playing netball with KPNA at the Keilor Basketball & Netball Stadium can contact Kim on 03 9249 4754.
