Netball Victoria announced on Sunday at its 2014 Annual General Meeting the appointment of Board Directors Gayle Lambert, Marlene Elliott, and Jenny Sanchez.
Netball Victoria sought nominations for three Director positions to each hold a three year term on the Board. With three nominations received there was no election required with the automatic appointments coming into effect on Monday 19 May.
Lambert is the newest face to join the Board, with over 30 years’ experience in netball across a variety of levels as not only a player and coach, but also an umpire, administrator, selector and committee member.
A recipient of the 2013 Netball Victoria Service Award, Lambert has worked tirelessly in her local netball community and across Victoria to help raise and develop the profile of netball across the state.
As Netball Victoria look towards the future of netball in this state, Elliott remains on the Board, now in a permanent position.
Elliott brings extensive experience in all aspects of strategic planning, project management, stakeholder engagement, business development, marketing and communications. Before joining the Netball Victoria Board, Elliott spent years involved in the sport in South Australia, as player, coach and board member.
Netball Victoria Life Member and current President Jenny Sanchez has been re-elected to the board on a three year term. When the board meets for its first official proceeding it will elect its President.
Sanchez has served Netball Victoria in many capacities, including being on the Board since 2000 and has been President since 2005.
Netball Victoria wishes to congratulate all three candidates and thanks them for their commitment to netball. We look forward to working with them in the coming years to grow the sport of netball in Victoria.
