The Victorian Fury are looking to continue their six game winning streak in round five of the Deakin University Australian Netball League (ANL), facing the Territory Storm on the Sunshine Coast this weekend.
The Storm enter the round on a high, after claiming their first win since 2012 last weekend against the Southern Force.
Victorian Fury captain, Lara Dunkley, said she expects the Storm to come out firing again this round.
“Netball’s all about having that momentum and they will definitely be pushing us to the limit this weekend,” Dunkley said.
“But that’s what it’s all about, having challenging games and getting through it.”
Sitting in second position on the ANL ladder, narrowly behind first-placed Tasmanian Magpies, the Fury won’t be underestimating their eighth-placed opponents.
“I think every team in the competition is growing each week, and you don’t really know what to expect from them in each game,” Dunkley said.
“We just need to stick to our game plan, which is working together and pushing out those 15 minute quarters for the full hour.”
Heading off to their third and final interstate trip of the season, barring a trip to finals in Canberra should the team make it, Dunkley said the last three weeks on the road have been great for team bonding.
“It’s actually been really fun,” Dunkley said.
“We’ve got such a great group of girls that bring their own unique qualities to the team.”
