The Victorian Fury are ready to take on the Canberra GIANTS in round 4 of the Deakin University Australian Netball League (ANL).
The GIANTS have recorded four wins from their six matches so far this year, sitting in fourth place on the ladder, whilst the Fury sit second.
The last time the two teams met the Fury were 70-41 winners, back in round 6 2017.
With the former National Netball League talent in Taylah Davies, Beryl Friday and Madeline Hay leading the GIANTS, Victorian Fury Head Coach Leesa Gallard said she is expecting two close games this round.
“I expect the games this weekend against the GIANTS to be like every other game in the ANL – a tough, strong, encounter,” Gallard said.
“We will need to limit the influence of all the athletes out on court. We know they are going to be quality athletes whether they came from the Super Netball or are a regular member of the team.”
Sitting in second position on the ladder on percentage, just behind the Tasmanian Magpies, Gallard said she is pleased with the way her team is performing this year.
“We have had some strong performances where Fury have played impressive netball in both attack and defence. We are continuing to work on certain aspects of our game and are looking for further development as the season progresses.”
The Fury will take on the Canberra GIANTS in Sydney on Saturday 26 May at 6pm and Sunday 27 May at 7pm.
