The tester meetings are designed for umpire mentors, testers, coordinators & administrators. Netball Victoria will hold multiple of these educational meetings around Victoria making them as accessible as possible for all wishing to attend.

The purpose of Netball Victoria’s Umpires in the Field program is to support the existing National Umpire Accreditation Framework by delivering two hour educational workshops designed for umpires at the grassroots level, as well as workshops that are aimed specifically for umpires who would like to work towards a higher accreditation.

Netball Victoria have undertaken a review of their Umpire Camp Program and is excited to announce a new camp for Rookie C Badged Umpires and a new format for our C & B Badge Camps.
Netball Victoria has identified a gap in learning and development once an umpire had obtained their C Badge; the first step of the National Umpire Accreditation Pathway. We are confidant this new camp and the revamp of our C & B Badge Camps will not only see an increase the capability of our umpires, but also in increase in the number of umpires moving through their pathway and obtaining their B Badge accreditation.
Purpose: To build a wide base of learning; this camp will enable umpires to start to consolidate their C grade badge.
Who: For umpires that have gained their National C Badge that year; i.e. ending Aug 31 each year (from September 1, 2019 to Aug 31, 2020 for camp in October 2020)
When: The camps will be held on the last weekend in October each year. However in 2020 we will hold two camps to ensure we can also cater for the umpires that obtained their C badge from January 1, 2019 to October 30, 2019.
1st Rookie Camp: Saturday 9 February, 2020 (for umpires that obtained their C Badge from January 1, 2019 to August 31, 2019)
2nd & 3rd Rookie Camps: Saturday 24 & Sunday 25 October, 2020 (for umpires that obtained their C Badge from September 1, 2019 to August 31, 2020)

C Grade Camp
Purpose: To develop and continue to consolidate the competencies of a C Badged umpire.
Who: Umpires that have held their National C Badge for at least 12 months and are wanting to work towards obtaining their B Badge.
When: Saturday 29 February & Sunday 1 March, 2020
Length: 2-day camp
Topics: Game Management, Application of Advantage, Fitness & Recovery, Contact vs Contest, Procedures and Protocols
B Grade Camp
Purpose: To educate and continue to develop the required skill set of the B Grade Badged umpire. Netball Victoria strives to ensure our B Grade Umpires are best B Grade Umpires they can be.
- B Grade Umpires in grassroots wanting to upskill
- Umpires that haven’t trialled for the B Grade Squad before and are not in HP program.
- B Grade Umpires that haven’t been to B Grade squad screening or got there but did not progress.
When: Sunday 1 March, 2020
Length: 1-day camp
Topics: Mental Toughness, Game Management, Self Analysis and Assessment, Contact vs Contest, Positioning
B Grade umpires who are selected into the Netball Victoria High Performance Program will have access to High Performance coaching at training sessions, as well as Netball Victoria events during the duration of the Program.
This program is also the pathway for selection into the Bupa Victorian Netball League Umpire Squad.
The Bupa Victorian Netball League is Netball Victoria’s Premier Netball Competition.
10 teams compete in 3 divisions across 18 rounds of competition, culminating in a finals series.
Umpires can be selected to be apart of the Bupa VNL Umpire Squad through the B Grade Talent Squad, and have access to Netball Victoria’s High Performance Umpire Coaches on a weekly basis, gaining valuable experience and feedback, as well as the chance to be selected into the Talented Umpires Program.

Run annually, this course is a pre requisite for umpires wanting to achieve their A & AA Badges.
