Parkville Netball Competitions have conducted their 4th Annual Pink Week, from the 21st to 27th of October, to raise money for the Cancer Council of Victoria in its ongoing research into breast cancer.
Back in 2010, the staff decided that it would do its part in the fight against the disease and they have continued to raise funds every year.
Parkville Netball Assistant Shane Chung was thrilled with the response from the netball community during Pink Week
“There have been far too many instances of breast cancer striking members of our netball community. In 2013, through the generosity of our players, supporters, staff and officials, Parkville was able to raise $4,914. We are very proud that people have placed such a high value on the fight against breast cancer and Parkville will continue to be in this fight next year,” Mr Chung said.
“Breast cancer does not only affect the individual, but the suffering is felt by significantly more people.”
Netball Victoria General Manager of Game Development Katie Redding echoed the sentiments of Parkville and was extremely proud of her staffs effort to raise money for the Cancer Council of Victoria.
“Pink Week at Parkville is a fantastic initiative to bring those in our netball community closer and show our support to all of the people affected by this disease,” Ms Redding said.
