Parkside Netball Club (PNC) is looking for an enthusiastic and (preferably) experienced coach for a couple of our netball teams (U11, U13, U17s) - Do you love netball and want to get involved in a lovely community netball club? We're waiting for your call!
Parkside (PNC) was established in 2015 to focus on providing local opportunities for playing netball and drawing together the local community for sports and social activities. PNC is also part of the broader Parkside Sports Club, which includes junior and senior AFL, golf and the North Alphington Cricket Club, whose home base is at Pitcher Park. The Club draws players from many schools across Fairfield, Alphington, Northcote, Thornbury and Ivanhoe.
We strive to keep kids active and enjoying netball while learning new skills and making life-long friendships. All players and parents/guardians must agree to our Code of Conduct, reinforcing this philosophy. Volunteers entirely run Parkside Netball Club, and we are incredibly grateful to all those who donate their time to participate as coaches, team managers and committee members.
PNC teams play in the Darebin Netball Association (DNA) Competition at Thornbury's new purpose-built Narrandjeri Stadium.
Required commitments
Training: Wednesdays 5-6pm, 1-hour training session per week during school term, at Narrandjerri Stadium, Thornbury.
Game Day: Saturday mornings - the older the team usually, the later the start time; 4x10 minute quarters.
We may have a few positions available with different training times.
- Coaches are encouraged to coach more than one team (but this is not a requirement!)
- Further coaching training offered
- Reimbursement of Victorian Netball Association registration
- Working with Children Check required
- Access to TheNetballCoach online
At PNC, we understand the commitment and effort our coaches put in, and we want to show our appreciation. That's why we offer a stipend/allowance that is paid each term. We want our coaches to feel motivated in their role, knowing that their efforts are recognised and rewarded.

- Our coaches are always paid a minimum of 2 hours per session.
- The hourly rate is about $37.50.
- Our games will be in terms 2,3 and 4. It will be for our year 7’s all the way up to our year 9’s.
- Their games are once a week and run like a traditional home and away season for majority of the school term.
- We also enter into one day competitions such as the Netball Victoria School Championships as well as a mixed competition through SACCSS.
- These provide extra opportunities for coaches in term of additional work but also the extra training sessions in the build-up to these events.
