Community Support Program

Netball Victoria’s Community Support Program has supported the netball community for over a decade, with generous donations from Jean Cowan and Margaret Pewtress providing financial assistance to families, communities and individuals to ensure there are no barriers to participating in our sport.

We are committed to supporting our netball community during times of hardship. We will continue to provide individual hardship support (previously known as the Jean Cowan Fund), and, in response to the fires and floods experienced across parts of the state in 2026, a Disaster Relief Support Program has been established to assist affected clubs, associations, leagues, and families.

Program background

Netball Victoria has long provided financial support for individuals facing financial hardship and that still remains through the Individual Hardship Grant.

Fire and flood events throughout 2026 have significantly impacted netball communities across Victoria. These events have resulted in damaged facilities, loss of equipment, financial hardship for families, and disruption to regular participation.

Targeted, time-limited financial assistance is required to support recovery, facilitate community rebuilding, and maintain engagement in netball activities.

Netball Victoria has established the 2026 Disaster Relief Program under its Community Support Program to provide targeted financial assistance to affiliated clubs, associations, leagues and families impacted by natural disaster events during 2026.

The program is designed to support recovery efforts, assist with rebuilding, and ensure the continued participation of communities in netball.
