Umpire Tip of the Month

DO's

• Be encouraging

• Be present for the whole game

• Give constructive feedback

• Stand at different points of the court at different stages of the game to assist with positioning (at centre pass, halfway down the goal third, the goal line)

DONT's

• Do not run behind the umpire the whole time

• Do not take your whistle onto court

• Do not tell them what calls to make

• Do not make their decisions for them

• Do not overload the umpire with too much information

• Do not expect “perfection”
