About Jean
During Jean’s netball career she was President of both Netball Victoria and Netball Australia, and was inducted as a Netball Victoria Life Member, Legend of the Game and a member of the Team of the Century. Jean was also named Patron of Netball Victoria in 1988. Jean Cowan generously bequeathed funds for an individual to enable their participation in netball within Victoria. Areas of assistance which Jean expressed include: - To purchase uniforms; - Pay for membership fees; - To purchase netball equipment; - Other similar or relevant expenses. MARGARET PEWTRESS SCHOLARSHIP
The Margaret Pewtress scholarship has been established to honour the memory of a remarkable woman and her contribution to the sport of netball in Australia.
About Margaret
Margaret Pewtress OAM was the Netball Australia President, former Netball Victoria President, as well as an Australian and Victorian Life Member. Margaret also played for Victoria and coached both Victoria and Australia. The Margaret Pewtress Scholarship provides funding for the successful applicant to complete training in sports administration/sport leadership. The Scholarship is to a Netball Victoria or equivalent Leadership Development Program or Coaching and Umpiring accreditation courses. Completion of these programs will enable administrators and future leaders to develop their capabilities to support their growth and progression at Association level through to Regional and State levels. Applicant Criteria - Be a current volunteer or paid administrator (including coaching, umpiring, bench officials) at an association affiliated with Netball Victoria. - Be available to attend and complete the program in its entirety. - Have a current Netball Victoria membership.
