Netball Victoria's Association Championships provide more than 180 Victorian associations and leagues the opportunity to compete in a crucial part of the Netball Victoria pathway, with talent ID opportunities for athletes, umpires and coaches at all tournament days across the state. Netball Victoria has just announced the dates and venues for the 2026 Association Championships, and encourage all clubs to promote trials and opportunities for player, coach and umpire development.
Woolworths NetSetGo is Australia’s leading grassroots netball program, designed for children aged 5-10. Associations, leagues and clubs across Victoria are registered Woolworths NetSetGo centres, and reap the benefits of engaging the next generation of netballers. By becoming an approved Woolworths NetSetGo centre, you'll help grow our game, and build confident and active kids who will develop a lifelong love of team sport. If you're interested in becoming a Woolworths NetSetGo centre or would like to know more, please complete the expression of interest form.
Netball Victoria will soon be launching the Statewide Facilities Strategy (2026-2028) - a clear roadmap to ensure every Victorian has access to quality, inclusive, and sustainable netball spaces. Applications for the 2025-26 Local Sports Infrastructure Fund are now open The 2025-26 Local Sports Infrastructure Fund (LSIF) is now open, offering up to $500,000 for upgrades to sports facilities across Victoria. The fund supports councils to enhance local sports grounds, courts, lighting, and more, with a focus on increasing participation, especially in women and girls. The fund offers three streams: Community facilities: Up to $500,000 Community sports lighting: Up to $250,000 Planning projects: Up to $40,000 Recent projects include lighting upgrades, new courts, and improved change rooms, benefiting local clubs and communities. Applications open: Tuesday 2 September 2025 Applications close: Tuesday 2 December 2025 Outcomes: Announced in April 2026 As this is processed through councils, we encourage early planning and submission to ensure your project meets the timeline.

Topics covered include Child Safety, getting yourself 'Rep Ready' and Netball Connect tips and tricks. You can view all recordings at any time, including October's sessions.

Each Netball Victoria affiliate/association/league/club is required to nominate a duly authorised person to set themselves up with access to the ATO’s Online Services for Business and be able to complete the income tax self-assessment by 31 October 2025. For ABN registered non-charitable NFPs, this is now a yearly requirement. You need to lodge an annual NFP self-review return confirming income tax exemption status.

The Woolworths Netball Grants Program is back, supporting grassroots netball clubs and associations running Woolworths NetSetGo to improve the health and wellbeing of young Australians through sport. This year, grants of $2,000 will be awarded to up to 40 clubs across the country, with a major $20,000 grant available through the 2025 People’s Choice Award. Applications are now open and close on 29 August. Don’t miss your chance to apply.
2025 WorkSafe Victoria Club Safety Fund applications are now open. The Club Safety Fund has been established to provide financial assistance to country netball communities to improve the safety of their grounds and facilities. Netball Victoria and WorkSafe are working together to build an environment that looks after the health, safety and wellbeing of our community.

World Sport Action (WSA) will be releasing a Netball Connect system update on 15 July. This will include several valuable updates designed to improve the system and features enhancements including:
- Umpire module updates to more easily assign umpires
- Ability for associations and clubs to create their own custom questions
- 'My Teams' section on a user profile that captures competition and team history
- Match changes in app - a larger login button, time zones of matches included, and game time changed to 12-hour time.
WSA will provide a comprehensive list of system updates closer to the release date.

Netball Victoria is proud to announce the launch of its Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). Our Innovate RAP marks the next stage in the organisation and sport’s journey toward reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Victoria. This new phase strengthens Netball Victoria’s commitment to embedding meaningful cultural change, enhancing participation pathways, and honouring the voices and contributions of First Nations people in netball.
Nominations for the 2025 Community Awards are now open. There has been some magnificent work that individuals, associations and leagues have done over the year, and this is the opportunity to celebrate those achievements. Don’t miss this opportunity to nominate your club, association or individual for a Netball Victoria Community Award. Nominations close Friday 5 September 2025.

We have scheduled them over lunch to give people who are working the opportunity to join during their break, ask their questions and return to work.
