In the biggest expansion of the game in recent history, Labor’s $9.6 million plan to deliver 64 new competition ready courts, will secure netball’s future in inner Melbourne.
The netball courts to be delivered across Melbourne, Moreland, Yarra and Darebin Councils, will support the current and future demand for training and competition growth in these areas.
The State Netball Hockey Centre is at capacity in all peak netball periods. Waiting lists for all midweek and Saturday competitions have shrunk netball participation in inner Melbourne.
“Labor will proudly support the largest female participation sport in Australia and we’ll proudly assist the biggest netball expansion in recent history,” Mr Andrews said.
