One of Netball Victoria’s biggest weekends is almost here, with the annual State Titles to be held this Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 October.
Now into its 32nd year, the 2017 competition will bring together 59 teams, made up of 630 players from across Victoria, to showcase some of the state’s brightest young netball stars.
Players compete in 15/U, 17/U, Open and All Abilities divisions, with a winning team crowned in each category.
Netball Victoria Chief Executive Officer, Rosie King, said the day will see the best-of-the-best in action.
“The State Titles provide a fantastic opportunity to bring the best talent from across the state together,” said King.
With many current Melbourne Vixens and Samsung Australian Diamonds players having been a part of the State Titles in the past, the tournament is a crucial part of the Victorian netball pathway and in discovering the state’s next big netball stars.
“The State Titles are an integral part of our High Performance Pathway and showcase some of the state’s best young and upcoming talent,” said King.
The 2017 State Titles will be held at Eagle Stadium, Werribee, for the second year in a row, thanks to a partnership with Wyndham City Council and Western Leisure Service.
The weekend of netball at Eagle Stadium begins at 9am Saturday, with the Opening Ceremony. Games commence from 9.45am.
