Netball Victoria’s flagship State Titles event took place over the March long weekend, with 18 regions from across the state coming together for three days of netball action.
The event was hosted at Bendigo’s Red Energy Arena in partnership with the City of Greater Bendigo.
This year’s competition featured divisions for 15&U females, 17&U females, 17&U males, and Open females, with the All Abilities competition to be held at the State Netball Centre on Sunday 7 April.
This year once again showcased the depth and spread of talent across the state with the Henderson and Elmer regions particularly dominant; the two faced off in the grand final of three of the four divisions.
Henderson claimed back-to-back honours in the 17&U male division on Saturday, edging out Elmer for the second consecutive year to take the title 10–8.
The region backed that performance up with a win in the 15&U female division on Monday, not losing a match across the weekend (14 wins, three draws) and also defeating Elmer in the final (13–10).
Chisholm and Central Highlands battled it out in the 17&U female final, Chisholm dominant from the first whistle and ultimately clinching the title with a 12–5 victory.
The Open female final was another Elmer and Henderson showdown, Elmer coming out on top with a six-goal win (13–7).
The State Titles are a key step in the Victorian netball pathway, providing opportunities for emerging athletes, coaches and officials to further their development and showcase their talent.
Netball Victoria congratulates all participants and division winners, and thanks the umpires, officials and volunteers whose dedication and commitment are vital to delivering a successful event each year.
