More than 150 schools are expected to take part in the 2026 School Championships, Netball Victoria’s largest participation event, and one of the biggest school-based netball tournaments in Australia.
Presented by Deakin University, the School Championships will run across July, August and September at 12 locations statewide, giving thousands of Victorian students the chance to compete.
2026 will see the School Championships head to Wodonga for the first time, signalling a commitment to the north east region and offering more schools the opportunity to participate without extensive travel.
Preliminary competition will be held at venues including Melton, Kilsyth, Parkville, Wodonga, Geelong, Traralgon, Knox, Bendigo, Hamilton and Frankston. Four competitive divisions will be offered for primary (years 5-6) and secondary students (Junior (years 7–8), Intermediate (years 9–10) and Senior (years 11–12)), with all divisions progressing to a Finals Day at the State Netball Centre.
For the first time, the School Championships will feature two dedicated Secondary Boys days, culminating in a Finals Day at the State Netball Centre, reflecting strong and growing interest from male players across the state.
Alongside competitive divisions, a non-competitive Primary division will be held at Parkville and Frankston. This stream allows schools to enter teams focused on skill development, fun and participation.
Netball Victoria General Manager – Community, Abbey Misso said:
“Netball Victoria’s School Championships is our largest participation event on the calendar, with thousands of students taking the court across our preliminary days.
“Netball is embedded in so many school sport programs across the state, and the School Championships give students the chance to develop their skills and experience the excitement of competition.”
