WHAT TO EXPECT
With a spot in the Grand Final on the line, expect this contest to go right down to the wire. Finishing top of the ladder in our pool, the Fury are eager to keep that winning momentum going against the Sapphires, who have also been in hot form.
SPOTLIGHT ON MAGGIE CARIS - FURY
A real contender in the air, goal keeper Maggie Caris isn’t afraid to back herself in and attack the hands of her opponent. She has a great read of the play, using her quick footwork to get around the body cleanly and her three-foot marking is another key component in her game play. Caris has proven that she can have an impact when injected into the game and can grind her opponent down with her constant hustle.
SPOTLIGHT ON HULITA VEVE – QUEENSLAND SAPPHIRES
Hulita Veve oozes excitement with her athleticism and defensive nous on display throughout the tournament so far. Her acceleration generates deflections and turnovers, making her one to watch for the Sapphires. Veve also plays a key role through transition, bringing the ball seamlessly from defence into attack. The wing defence will be hoping to draw upon her SSN experience with the Queensland Firebirds to shut down the Fury’s attack end.
