Netball Victoria has revealed revised dates of the Origin Association Championships qualifying days, after recent restrictions forced the postponement of some regions’ events, including those scheduled for Sunday 20 June, 2021.
As an integral talent identification competition in Netball Victoria’s pathway, the Association Championships provide opportunities for players, umpires and coaches. The competitions are played at each of the qualifying days in Netball Victoria’s regions, and culminate on Finals Day which will now be held on Sunday, 1 August at the State Netball Centre.
Netball Victoria’s General Manager - Netball Participation, Mel Taylor said:
“After a tough 12 months, netball is once again thriving. Whilst this set back has been challenging, we will work within the restrictions to ensure the competition can be delivered.”
All qualifying days, with amended formats if needed, will go ahead at the original location, provided local restrictions allow:
- No travel restrictions in place
- Crowds permitted at least 500 patrons
- Canteens permitted to open
- Indoor facilities (changerooms, club rooms etc) permitted to open
Netball Victoria thanks the netball community for their ongoing support and looks forward to delivering Association Championships when restrictions allow.
