Bacchus Marsh Netball Association and Warrnambool City Netball Association have been crowned the 2026 Woolworths NetSetGo Bring A Friend Month winners, after helping introduce more young participants to the fun of netball.
Throughout August, Woolworths NetSetGo participants were encouraged to bring a friend for FREE to a session at participating centres, creating an easy and welcoming way for new players to give netball a go.
With no cost and no commitment, Bring A Friend Month was all about fun, friendship and sharing a love of netball.
At Bacchus Marsh Netball Association, the initiative provided a great opportunity to connect with the local community, with an additional 25 children joining their regular NetSetGo session for their Bring A Friend Day on Wednesday 26 August.
The session welcomed 25 new faces alongside the association's usual 32 participants, creating a busy afternoon filled with plenty of energy and enthusiasm.
Junior coaches ran a fun mini clinic featuring agility activities, ball skills, shooting and prizes, with parents also getting involved before everyone finished with a big group game.
The association has already seen new enquiries come through following the session, with the initiative expected to have a positive impact on its wider netball program.
In Warrnambool, the Woolworths NetSetGo program continues to provide a fun, engaging and supportive environment for young participants.
Led by Ruby, sessions are filled with energy, activity and variety, with participants developing their skills through a mix of activities and games.
The program has created a strong sense of pride and belonging, with participants proudly wearing their NetSetGo tops each week. Progress is evident from week to week as participants continue to build their skills and confidence in a positive environment.
Bring A Friend Month provided another opportunity for both associations to welcome new participants, build connections and showcase the fun of getting involved in netball.
The initiative highlights the important role Woolworths NetSetGo plays in creating positive first experiences of netball and encouraging young participants to stay involved in the sport.
