Melbourne Vixens Assistant Coach Di Honey has been reappointed as Head Coach for the Victorian Fury following the team’s success at last year’s Australian Netball Championships in Traralgon.
Silver medallists in 2022, Fury came agonisingly close to victory in the grand final, going down to the Southern Force by just two goals despite an enormous 20-goal final quarter.
The team’s performance at the competition was impressive after a two-year break due to the COVID pandemic, and with a newly established tournament format.
Honey brings a wealth of experience to the Head Coach role, including having coached Fury to the 2019 premiership in the Australian Netball League, the ANC’s predecessor competition.
Having coached her 150th National League game as Assistant Coach with the Melbourne Vixens this year, Honey will look to take her team one step further and claim gold in 2023.
“I’m excited to be returning as Head Coach of the Fury program, there’s so much talent in the Victorian netball pathway and it’s a privilege to be involved in developing our next generation,” said Honey.
Team lists and further information about this year’s Australian Netball Championships will be announced in due course.
