Over 600 of the state’s up and coming netballers will compete for Netball Victoria’s 2025 State Titles, which will be held at Jubilee Park Stadium, Frankston across the Labour Day weekend of 8-10 March.
2025 will be the first time in 21 years that Frankston has held the State Titles, having previously hosted in 1990 and 2004. The 2025 event has been made possible by Frankston and District Netball Association and Frankston City Council, as the region cements itself as a destination for quality netball.
The State Titles is Netball Victoria’s opening event of the performance pathway calendar year, where 18 regions from across the state play in a round robin-style tournament in 15/U, 17/U Female, 17/U Male, Open and All Abilities divisions.
The State Titles presents talent identification opportunities for athletes and umpires, with state selectors observing matches across the three-day tournament. Across the 40 years of the tournament, the State Titles has been a stepping stone for athletes and umpires’ progression through the high performance pathway.
Jubilee Park Stadium officially opened in 2023 as a state-of-the-art $36.6 million project and is fast-becoming a go-to destination for high performance netball. Featuring six indoor courts, including one showcourt with seating for 1,000 people, the stadium has hosted Victorian Netball League matches as well as the National Netball Championships.
“For 40 years, the State Titles has been a highly regarded event in the Netball Victoria pathway as an opportunity to not only identify talent across Victoria, but have athletes, umpires, coaches and officials challenge themselves against the state’s best,” said Netball Victoria CEO Andrea Pearman.
“We’re grateful for the support of Frankston District Netball Association and Frankston City Council for hosting the 2025 State Titles and investing in the sport that reaches so many people across the state. Since the redevelopment, Jubilee Park Stadium has become a hub for high performance and pathway netball, and we look forward to seeing the state’s up and coming netballers compete at the facility in March.”
Mayor Conroy said Frankston was becoming a destination of choice for state and national sporting events due its first-class facilities.
“Council has invested significantly in its sport and recreation facilities in the past few years, and we’re reaping the rewards by hosting top events like the State Titles, which benefit the community and local economy, while giving our athletes more development pathways,” he said.
“Our newest stadium and pavilions, including Jubilee Park Stadium, all provide accessible and inclusive facilities in line with Council’s commitment to enhance opportunities for female participation in sport, and we’re proud to be working with Netball Victorria to grow the sport even more in our region.”
