Reigning premiers the Victorian Fury will travel to the Gold Coast to play the Queensland Fusion in Round Six of the Australian Netball League (ANL) this weekend.
The first of the two matches against the Fusion will take place on Saturday at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre from 3.20pm AEST, prior to the ANZ Championship clash between the Melbourne Vixens and the Queensland Firebirds.
Their second match will follow on Sunday at the Carrara Indoor Sports Stadium from 1:30pm AEST.
Both sides will have plenty to play for with the Fury looking to move a step closer to securing top spot on the ANL ladder, while the Fusion simply must win to keep their finals hopes alive.
Fury Head Coach Cathy Fellows is looking for a four quarter performance from her team against the Fusion.
“Our aim is to start playing with more consistency and producing the same intensity for a whole match,” Fellows said.
“We have been building since the opening rounds, but we need to put together eight quality quarters of netball if we want to contend in the finals.”
The Fury will welcome two replacement players into the squad this week with Kelsie Rainbow (Monash University Storm) and Demi Woodlock (Wilson Storage Southern Saints) replacing Lara Dunkley and Shannon Eagland.
The Fury have an excellent record against the Fusion having won 11 of their 12 matches played.
It will be the final round of matches for the Fury this season prior to the finals.
