Netball Victoria is pleased to announce the appointment of a new President to its Board of Directors, Richelle McKenzie.
The election took place at the scheduled board meeting last week, where long standing Board Member McKenzie, ran unopposed and was subsequently voted in by her fellow Directors.
Netball Victoria, Acting Chief Executive Officer, Rebekah Webster, said McKenzie is highly regarded by the Directors and staff at Netball Victoria and will make a wonderful President.
“Richelle has been on the Board of Directors at Netball Victoria since 2008. In this time she has made an invaluable contribution to the organisation and more broadly netball across Victoria.
“Her finance and business background has also assisted the board and executive team with the organisation’s management and decision making,” said Webster.
McKenzie’s background in netball is extensive. She was a Head Coach of the Knox State League; a former manager of the Melbourne Phoenix from 1999-2003 in the National Netball League; a Victorian state coach; Head Coach of Zone Academy programs; and a Regional Coaching Coordinator and course presenter for many years.
“We look forward to continuing our work with Richelle, in her new capacity as President of Netball Victoria.
“It is an exciting time for our sport and I have no doubt with her experience and passion Richelle will be a great leader for our organisation as we continue to grow and strive for even more success,” said Webster.
