Netball Victoria and the Melbourne Vixens are pleased to announce that Andrea Pearman will join the organisation as CEO from January 2023.
Pearman brings a wealth of experience in community and corporate organisations and has worked with sport from grassroots level through to the elite. She has led major corporate sponsorship programs as well as stakeholder and corporate social responsibility functions for some of Australia’s most iconic brands including Australia Post, NAB, Fosters and Telstra.
Pearman has worked with diverse stakeholders including representative groups, sport, not-for-profit and community organisations, government, business and local communities. She is also the co-founder of Inclusive Australia, an organisation focused on reducing the widespread discrimination experienced by many groups in Australia.
Her blend of experience across community and corporate roles positions her well to lead Netball Victoria’s Executive team as the organisation embarks on a new strategic planning cycle in 2023.
“I’m excited to welcome Andrea to Netball Victoria and am confident she will bring exceptional leadership and vision to our organisation,” said Netball Victoria President Carol Cathcart.
“Andrea’s experience both within and outside of the sports industry positions her strongly to guide us as we continue working towards a bright future for our game. Our Board, Executive and staff look forward to working closely with Andrea to deliver many exciting new initiatives for our Victorian netball community.”
“I’m excited to have the opportunity to lead Netball Victoria in its next phase of growth and can’t wait to get started in January,” said newly appointed CEO Andrea Pearman.
“I am passionate about the role sport can play in making a difference to people’s lives, through building strong communities, fostering connection and belonging, improving health and wellbeing and advocacy around social issues.”
“Netball has a very bright future and I look forward to working with the team at Netball Victoria, our affiliates, government and commercial partners to continue building on the sport’s proud legacy in our state.”
