Netball Victoria has announced updates to its Board of Directors, following the Annual General Meeting held on Thursday 21 March and subsequent Board meetings.
While no new members have been elected, the Board welcomes the reappointment of Britt Hawkins and Adrian Kinderis for a further two years.
Britt was appointed to the Board in 2023, with a passion for netball that resonates through her grassroots involvement, where she engages with the sport firsthand through her daughters' participation and her active role on her club's executive committee. Britt is a chartered accountant, approved auditor, and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, with extensive expertise in governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
Adrian also joined the Board last year, with strengths ranging from finance, governance, and risk management to policy development and people management, and significant experience in executive positions. An executive and entrepreneur, Adrian holds a deep connection to netball fostered by his mother, and later reignited by his daughter’s participation.
Netball Victoria wishes to acknowledge and thank departing members of the Board for their service to the organisation and sport throughout their tenure; Kylie Spears (elected in 2020, reappointed in 2023), Michael Portaro (elected in 2021) and Catherine Whitehead (appointed in 2023).
The final vacated position on the Board will remain as a casual vacancy under Rule 19.2 (d) of the Netball Victoria constitution.
