Netball Victoria’s talent identification competitions will return to the state home of netball, with the Association Championships finals day and 2021 State Titles being held at the State Netball Centre in July and October.
Netball Victoria’s Association Championships provide more than 180 Victorian associations and leagues the opportunity to compete in a crucial part of the Netball Victoria pathway, with talent ID opportunities for athletes, umpires and coaches at all tournament days across the state.
Supported by Origin Energy, the Association Championships will culminate with 50 teams across five divisions competing on finals day at the State Netball Centre on Sunday, 18 July.
From 1-3 October, over 600 of the state’s up and coming netballers will compete for Netball Victoria’s State Titles. Teams from Netball Victoria’s 19 regions will play across five divisions, including All Abilities, in a round robin style event, with the top teams crowned state champions.
Netball Victoria’s CEO Rosie King said that the State Titles provides opportunities for development of many connected to Netball Victoria’s programs across the state.
“We are so proud to be able to host our premier community netball competitions at the newly refurbished state home of netball this year,” said King.
“Royal Park has been netball’s spiritual home for nearly 100 years and there have been many Victorian and Australian netball champions play on the Parkville courts over that time, and as importantly there will be many more Victorian champions to come.
“Three years ago, the Victorian Government committed the largest investment ever made into women’s sporting infrastructure in Australia. The result is a state-of-the-art community and high-performance netball facility and we are excited that so many will get to play at our new home in the 2021 State Titles and Association Championships.”
