North Albury Football Netball Club - part of the Ovens & Murray Football Netball League - has been awarded the 2026 Woolworths People's Choice, winning $20,000 for the club.
As one of Australia’s largest supporters of community sport, the Woolworths Netball Grant program empowers local clubs and associations to provide young netballers with improved facilities and encourage healthy habits.
The People’s Choice Award allows Australians to vote for just one community club across the country to be the winners of a $20k grant with the potential to improve the health and wellbeing of Aussie kids, inspiring future athletes and growing grassroots sports in communities. Now in its third year, the award encourages engagement among local members and supporters, bringing a sense of unity across the netball community.
Over 64,103 votes were submitted, with the Albury community rallying behind North Albury Football Netball Club to successfully win the grant with 12,555 votes - 20% of the votes.
Woolworths has been a supporter of grassroots netball, in partnership with Netball Australia since 2019, donating more than $1.4 million to hundreds of clubs across the country largely through the allocation of Woolworths Netball Grants.
Head of Community & Sponsorships at Woolworths Supermarkets, Sarah De La Mare said: “As one of Australia’s largest supporters of community sport, Woolworths is proud to see the overwhelming support from the Albury community for North Albury Football Netball Club.
