In partnership with Netball Victoria, Junior MLeague was established in 2018. The competition aims to provide a pathway for boys to continue their development in a competitive environment, playing at a high standard with likeminded players. In 2019, VMMNA will expand the format to include more teams along with two Mixed divisions: U16s and U19s. The Victorian Men’s and Mixed Netball Association, in conjunction with Netball Victoria will be commencing a Junior Boys and Junior Mixed Netball Competition. This competition will be held at Mullum Mullum Stadium on Wednesday evenings, commencing 27 March 2019.
We are currently seeking expressions of interest from associations and clubs who wish to enter teams in this competition. If you don’t have a team, individuals can also enter separately. With the new gender regulations coming into effect as of 1 January 2019, males above the age of 13 will no longer be eligible to compete in any competition which does not label itself as either a ‘Boys’ or ‘Mixed’ Competition. To continue providing options for boys participation, our competition offers the following divisions:
The Mixed Competition will run in line with the new Netball Victoria gender regulations as outlined below:
- A team may field a maximum of three male players on court at any one time with:
- ONE of GS / GA
- ONE of WA / C / WD
- ONE of GD / GK
- A team must have a minimum of two male players. (Should your association or club have two males who are keen to play but don’t have a mixed team, we encourage you to still enter as we will endeavour to place them into a team.)
Boys can play in both the boys division and mixed division in one night – with the fixtures arranged to avoid clashes.
