The most prestigious event on the Netball Victoria calendar is fast approaching, with 55 teams set to challenge at this year’s State Titles on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 October.
In its 31st year, the 2016 State Titles will bring together more than 600 players, coaches and umpires from 19 regions from across the state, including Murray in their first year of competition.
With registrations officially closed, 43 teams will be fielded across 15/U, 17/U and Open divisions, and 12 in All Abilities.
Netball Victoria CEO Rosie King said this year’s tournament is shaping up to be one of the best yet.
“The State Titles is such a unique competition that brings the best-of-the best from across Victoria together,” said King of the event which is an integral part of Netball Victoria’s talent development pathway.
“It is a fantastic opportunity for not only our players, but also for our coaches and umpires to develop, and I’m sure this year’s tournament will be as hotly-contested as ever.”
The 2016 State Titles will take place at the state-of-the-art Eagle Stadium in Werribee, thanks to a two-year partnership with the Wyndham City Council and Western Leisure Service.
Boasting 12 indoor courts and four outdoor courts, participants and spectators alike can expect a great weekend of competition at the prestigious new facility.
“This facility is one of the best in the state, and we thank Wyndham City Council for all their support and together we look forward to putting on a great event,” added King.
The State Titles will officially kick off with the opening ceremony at 9am before the first round of play commencing at 9:30am. Full fixture to be released at the end of September.
