On Mother's Day weekend, Tallygaroopna Football Netball Club celebrated a milestone that stretched across three generations.
Cienna Halden reached 200 games for the club, a milestone made even more special by the family story behind it.
Cienna is the daughter of Kelli Halden, TFNC's all-time netball games record holder with over 600 appearances and a life member of both the club and the league. Kelli's own parents, Nev Hosie (league and club life member) and Leeanne Hosie (club life member), helped lay the foundations of the club's netball program long before Cienna ever pulled on a bib.
Grand-daughter, daughter, player, coach, vice president. The Halden-Hosie name has meant something at Tally for a long time.
Cienna is one of two daughters at the club, with younger sister Marlee also part of the Tally netball family.
Kelli said the milestone was one the whole family could share in.
"They've spent their whole lives watching our family and friends celebrate milestones, support one another, and build memories that last, and now it's beautiful to see them creating their own. It is a great milestone for Cienna to reach 200 games. She has played here most of her life and it is great recognition of her dedication."
Cienna first represented the club in 2012, spending two seasons in 2016 and 2017 playing juniors in the GVL before returning to build a record that now spans every level of the program: 104 in A Grade, 15 in B Grade, three in C Grade and 77 in juniors. She sits 29th on TFNC's all-time netball games honour board.
But the numbers only tell part of the story.
"I've gained lifelong friendships, unforgettable memories on and off the court, and most importantly the opportunities to share something I love with my family," said Cienna. "I've been lucky enough to play an A Grade game with my mum before she retired, and coach my sister to a premiership, and hopefully one day I'll get to play alongside her too."
The premierships have followed too, as a player in A Grade in 2022 and 15&Under in 2015, and as coach of the 15&Under side for flags in both 2023 and 2025. She has been coaching the 15&Under team since 2022 and has served on the committee as Junior Vice President of Netball in 2023–24 and Senior Vice President of Netball in 2025–26. It's a contribution that goes well beyond the court.
And she won't be celebrating alone.
The Mother's Day weekend celebrations extended to two more milestones. Melinda Kittlety played her 150th club game, and Kieley Lane reached 100 games for TFNC.
Congratulations to Cienna, Melinda, Kieley and all the mums across the Tally netball community. Here's to many more games to come.
