Netball Victoria has announced that the 2016 and 2017 State Titles will be held in Wyndham, all thanks to a new two-year partnership with the Wyndham City Council and Western Leisure Service.
In its 31st year, the tournament will be played at the Eagle Stadium in Werribee, soon to be labelled the largest indoor court facility in Melbourne’s West.
As of June 14, the stadium will boast state of the art facilities with 12 indoor courts, four outdoor courts and a brand new gymnasium before welcoming 19 regions from across the state to battle it out at the prestigious 2016 State Titles.
The action-packed weekend will not only bring more than 600 players, coaches and umpires from across Victoria, it’s also recognised as an invaluable development opportunity while helping to promote the structured pathway for those playing netball in Victoria.
Showcasing 15/U, 17/U, Open and All Abilities netball divisions across two days of non-stop action, Michelle Gerdtz – Netball Victoria’s General Manager of High Performance and Commercial Operations – said, “We are really excited to be working with Wyndham City Council and Western Leisure Services to deliver the 2016 State Titles event at Eagle Stadium.
“The tournament plays such an important role in the development of our Victorian players, umpires and coaches. This new facility is one of the best in the State and is the perfect location for this prestigious tournament.
Netball Victoria will release the fixtures for the 2016 State Titles later in the year.
