Return to Training and Competition – associations and clubs is a guiding document designed to help associations, clubs and individual players through a physical return to training and competition. There is no requirement to follow this guidance, instead this information is a general guide that will help you to plan a gradual return for your players and ensure they have an enjoyable and safe return to training and competition.

The document also includes a number of at-home training guides which you can share with your members. Players may like to get a head-start and practice some general netball skills before they get back on court.

Important note: this information is a summary of Netball Victoria’s Return to Community Netball guidelines, provides a snapshot only. This information should be read along with the Return to Community Netball guidelines which are available on our resources page.

The following information is provided to assist and support netball associations to prepare a safe environment for netball activities, including tournaments. The following information is intended to offer guidance only, it is not mandated that the information is adhered to.

With our return to competition you may need to adapt your competition by-laws in order to be flexible and respond to the changes in the way your competition will be delivered. It is essential that we are encouraging full participation and providing confidence for individuals to return to netball.

Associations and Leagues can use this document to ensure all programs and competitions consider some of the main bylaw changes that may be required to fully support the return to community netball.

QR Codes are a quick electronic way to collect information. These are a great way to record attendance of participants, umpires, parents/guardians.

This document provides a step by step guide in how to create a QR code.

Through the MyNetball platform admin users can see any members that have been De-Registered for 2020 as part of Netball Victoria's Reimbursement Policy.

This document provides a step by step guide in how to run a De-Registration report.

Reflections from the Netball Community

“Our league was privileged to commence and play a few rounds of netball in six age groups after restrictions were eased. The smiles on players/parents and club administrators after the past few months was so good to see. We thank Netball Vic for their support and regular updates that assisted leagues and clubs to ensure protocols were easy to follow and implement. We look forward to netball commencing again”

“Bringing three weekends of netball back to the community was one of the most rewarding opportunities our organisation has ever achieved. The joy and smiles it brought to the community and the region over a three week period was worth all the work. We are so proud of every club, official and player for making netball happen in 2020”.

“Our return to netball even though it was short was amazing. The joy on the girls faces was just what our community needed to lift spirits in such hard and ever changing times. We look forward to when we can participate once more brining our community together”.

“I felt so much pride and excitement that we managed to get the season started under such different circumstances. The support we had from the community was overwhelming”

“It gave the executive a good opportunity to get a taste of, and be prepared for some of what will become normal protocol moving forward and living with COVID-19 on the netball court”.
