Netball Victoria is seeking a First Nations Manager to join our purpose led team in a part time role (3 days per week). About the role
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, we are seeking an advocate with strong cultural knowledge, leadership capability and exceptional stakeholder engagement skills who can work collaboratively with First Nations communities, affiliates, partners and internal teams to drive action and create meaningful impact.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Leading the development, delivery and continuous improvement of Netball Victoria’s Innovate RAP and future RAP stages
Championing reconciliation and providing expert guidance across the organisation
Coordinating and supporting the First Nations Advisory Group and RAP Working Group
Designing and delivering programs that empower young people and communities through netball
Strengthening diversity and inclusion initiatives and participation pathways
Building strong, respectful partnerships with First Nations communities and stakeholders
Overseeing community engagement programs, clinics, events and First Nations rounds
Leading and supporting culturally respectful initiatives such as the Melbourne Vixens First Nations dress design
What you will bring:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in the First Nations environment
Relevant Tertiary qualification.
Demonstrated experience working with First Nations communities and stakeholders
Strong relationship-building, communication and engagement skills
Strategic thinking and the ability to lead programs from concept through to delivery
Experience in diversity, inclusion, community development or sport (highly regarded)
A commitment to creating culturally safe environments for children, young people and communities
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
Valid Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
Driver’s licence and ability to travel within Victoria.

About the role
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Finance Business Partner serves as a trusted advisor to our Business Units (BUs), leaders and General Managers, providing timely, practical and solutions focused financial guidance.
You will help shape budgets, forecasts, and performance reporting, ensuring leaders have the clarity, insight and confidence they need to achieve strategic and operational outcomes. A strong communicator and relationship builder, you translate financial information into meaningful advice that supports planning, delivery and organisational impact.
This is a role for someone who values collaboration, is proactive in identifying risks and opportunities, and enjoys working across all areas in our purpose driven organisation. You’ll also provide support and coverage for the COO as required.

Management Reporting
Preparing monthly financial reports and insights for assigned BUs.
Contributing to Executive and Board reporting.

Assisting with business cases, pricing and costing.
Providing financial input for grants, funding and new initiatives.
Supporting revenue and efficiency improvement initiatives.
Financial Governance, Compliance & Risk
Ensuring compliance with financial policy, controls and regulatory requirements.
Supporting audit processes and promoting strong financial discipline.
Leadership & Organisational Contribution
Role modelling Netball Victoria’s values to foster a positive, collaborative culture.

What you will bring:
Minimum 5+ years’ experience in finance (FP&A, management accounting or business partnering).
CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent).
Experience supporting operational leaders with financial insights and recommendations.
Strong analytical, reporting and financial modelling capability.
Ability to simplify complex financial concepts for diverse stakeholders.
High attention to detail, accountability and problem solving ability.
Strong Excel, Word and presentation skills.
Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
An interest in sport and community impact is highly advantageous.
