New ATO Annual Reporting Requirements

Each Netball Victoria Association/Affiliate/League and or Club is required to nominate a duly authorised person and follow the below instructions to set themselves up with access to the ATO’s Online Services for Business to be able to complete the Income Tax Self-Assessment by the 31 October 2024.  From 1 July, ABN registered non-charitable NFPs need to lodge an annual NFP self-review return confirming income tax exemption status.

STEP ONE - Set up MyGov ID

This must be done with a personal email address & it is NOT associated with the blue MyGov that is used for Personal Tax Returns. 

STEP TWO - Link MYGovID to the business ABN in Relationship Authorisation Manger

  1. Click on Link your business
  2. Provide Consent & Continue
  3. Enter Personal details & Continue
  4. Your business ABN will now appear
  5. Click on the ABN and complete verification, declaration & consent

STEP THREE - Access Online Services for Business

  • Test you can get in
  • From the 1st July 2024, Access the NFP Self-Review & complete the return for the period 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024.  This needs to be completed by 31 Oct 2024.
  • Note the return is only at a point in time, it does not have to align with your business Financial Year End.
