The 2026 National Netball Championships will take place at Victoria’s home of netball, Parkville’s State Netball Centre, in partnership with Visit Victoria.
Running from 9–15 April, the week-long tournament will see the nation’s top emerging talent arrive in Melbourne to compete for the national championship title. Representative teams from every state and territory will take part, with matches played across the 17/U and 19/U age groups.
Since its inception in 1985, the National Netball Championships have played a key role in shaping the future of the sport, serving as a proven launchpad for many of the game’s stars. The event has provided valuable development opportunities for athletes, coaches, umpires and officials, with many progressing to the Suncorp Super Netball competition and the Australian Diamonds.
Talent identification will take place throughout the week, further highlighting the event’s importance within Australia’s national pathway. National squads in both age groups will be selected following the tournament, with chosen athletes attending national camps in July. These camps mark the next stage of development, offering exposure to elite coaching within a high-performance environment.
“The National Netball Championships are a flagship event on our pathway calendar, and we’re excited to see the next generation of Australian netball talent taking centre stage in Melbourne,” said Netball Australia’s Executive General Manager of Netball, Megan Simpson.
“As a key step in the development of our athletes, coaches, umpires and officials, this event has an important role to play in shaping the future of our sport.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Visit Victoria to provide a platform for emerging talent to make their mark in the national landscape.”
The 2026 National Netball Championships fixture will be available in the coming weeks, with matches to commence in the afternoon on Thursday 9 April.
