Netball Connect Club Resources
As association competitions get underway it is a timely reminder for clubs to add Team Managers and Coaches to teams. This allows for TM’s to communicate with their team via the app, and if the competition is doing Live Scoring enables the TM to assign scorers to games.
Please review Club Resources here, specifically the Quick Reference Guides for adding Managers and Coaches.

Walking Netball
Walking Netball is a modified version of the traditional game that is fully inclusive allowing anyone to participate regardless of their age, fitness level, ability or previous netball experience. As the name implies, Walking Netball is a slower version of netball performed at a walking pace. Walking Netball has a strong emphasis on getting people to participate in an enjoyable, safe environment rather than focusing on the competitive aspect. For 2022, Netball Victoria has made it easy for walking netball players to participate with a $20 cost-effective membership for the year. Considering running your own Walking Netball program click here for more information.
Child Safety - Tip of the Month
As the year gets underway with competitions it is essential all necessary people have a Working with Children Check. The WWCC is just one component of maintaining and creating a child safe environment. Victorian affiliates must know:
- That the regulation applies to every adult (18 years and older) who hold a position of responsibility or authority with children.
- That positions of responsibility or authority cover a wide range of positions including directors, committee members, coaches, umpires, officials, team managers and other senior positions.
- That positions can be paid or unpaid, accredited or not accredited.
- Affiliates must keep a register of all members or persons within the club, association or league who hold a WWCC. Netball Victoria has developed a sample register template for use by affiliates.
- Comprehensive information regarding the regulation is detailed in the Child Safety in Netball Policy and referenced in the Child Safety in Netball Code of Conduct.
For details on how to apply for a Working with Children Check and your obligations as a working with children check cardholder please visit the Working with Children Website.
