Sitting one game below the Fury, the NSW Waratahs will enter the round on a high, after four wins in row, while the Fury will return home to Melbourne, looking to continue their impressive form.
Fury coach Di Honey, said she is more than happy with the wins this season, but at the end of the day they don’t become the focus.
“Eloise and I are pleased with the results so far, but obviously there are still a few things we need to tweak,” Honey said.
“We probably still haven’t played four solid quarters yet as a team, so we are looking to continue building, and make sure come finals time, we are hitting our straps.”
Up against a top side this week, Honey touched on the focus this week, being maintaining composure and consistency across the four quarters.
“We want to make sure that we follow our game plan and keep to the structures we’ve been working on. That means, making sure we hit the circle edge and feeding that ball in.
“We are trying to be really disciplined in our approach to how we feed the circle.”
Their last meeting was in the 2018 finals campaign with Fury suffering defeat by three goals, so the home team will look to enter the game with a clean slate.
“We are taking a fresh approach…it’s a new year, and there are a few different players in both teams.
“We’ve been looking at the footage, and they have some quality players that we need to make sure we’ve got covered…but we are taking a totally fresh approach to last year.
Fury take on the NSW Waratahs at 5.00pm at the State Netball and Hockey Centre on Saturday and follow the Vixens on Sunday at 3.30pm at Margaret Court Arena.
